ANTHONY D.P. MANN is a Canadian performing artist who continues to entertain audiences on stage, television, film and audio.
As an actor, Anthony has appeared in a variety of beloved character roles, from the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (CD and stage show “Humbug! A Celebration of the Christmas Season”), Dracula (“Canucula!”, 2008 film), The Wizard of Oz (“From Omaha to Oz” / “Christmas Comes to Oz”) to an extended association with the character of Sherlock Holmes on stage, radio, TV and film . His stage work has also included musical turns in an adaptation of George du Maurier’s “Trilby”, Oscar Wilde’s “The Canterville Ghost”, and acclaimed plays by Michel Tremblay (“The Real World”) and Agatha Christie (“Ten Little Indians”). Most recently, Anthony appeared as American actor (and famous Sherlock portrayer) William Gillette, in Ken Ludwig’s “Post Mortem” with the Domino Theatre.
Television appearances include CTGC’s “The Chronicles of Sherlock Holmes”, and many popular (including award-winning) productions with TVCogeco (“Evermore: Tales From the Sleeper’s Tomb”, “Vampires, Werewolves… and Some Really Spooky Kids”, “1000 Islands Amazing Race”). Anthony is also frequently called-upon for his services as a TV presenter, including an annual stint as co-host of Kingston’s Santa Claus Parade. Other productions of note include “Canada Dance Sport 2008”, “The Lounge” and “Buy, Sell & Trade”. In late 2008 and early 2009, Anthony headlined two musical specials on TVCogeco (“The Spirit of Christmas” and “The Spirit of Ireland”), demonstrating his talent as a singer-songwriter.
Upcoming projects include concert performances of “Pirates and Dragons and Ghosts… Oh My!” (a revue featuring selections from family-friendly musicals written by Anthony over the years), and a return to Victorian London in “Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow Watchers”, a feature film now completed. Joined by Terry Wade as Dr. Watson, Anthony is delighted to don the deerstalker and calabash once again, as the character with whom he is most associated.
